Minutes of 8/20/19 special open meeting to vote on Ordinance #147 (An Ordinance Establishing A One Percent General Sales Tax For Missouri City, Missouri)
The Missouri City, Missouri, City Council met at 7:15 pm on August 20th, 2019, at the MCCA Building for a special open meeting to vote on Ordinance #147 (An Ordinance Establishing A One Percent General Sales Tax for Missouri City, Missouri). Those attending: Mayor Barry Moore, Clerk Monte Railey, Treasurer Lindsay Eppley and Council members Sydney Stewart, Rockne Gross and Joe Selle. Councilman Micah Schake was absent. Resident Cassidy Russell also attended.
A one percent sales tax was approved 22-8 by voters per the August 6th, 2019 municipal election. Mayor Moore read the Ordinance once in it’s entirety and twice by title. There was no further discussion. Cou Gross made a motion to adopt as read and was seconded by Councilman Selle. The motion passed by a vote of 3-0.
The City Clerk will forward election results and a copy of the ordinance to the Missouri Department of Revenue for implementation.
The next Council meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Thursday, September 12th, 2019, at the MCCA Building.
