Minutes of November 26th, 2019, Special Council Meeting
The Missouri City, Missouri, City Council held a special open meeting at the MCCA Building on Tuesday, November 26th, 2019, at 6:00 pm. The business of the day was unsealing and reading bids for citywide curbside trash service starting January 1st, 2019 forward. Attending: Mayor Barry Moore, City Clerk Monte Railey, Council members Sydney Stewart, Joe Selle, Rockne Gross and Micah Schake.
Mayor Moore called the meeting to order. Proposals from Republic Services and AAA Disposal Services were read and discussed. A letter was read from current provider Waste Management stating Missouri City is no longer in their service area as the reason they are not bidding to extend service beyond the December 31st expiration of the current agreement. Questions were prepared regarding each proposal and will be presented to the respective vendors by Mayor Moore. He will e-mail responses to Council members as he receives them. A vote to award the contract will be held at the December 9th, 2019, monthly Council meeting.
It was also decided that Councilwoman Stewart will work on the design of a revised city building permit and business license.
