Minutes of November 24th, 2020, Special Council Meeting
The Missouri City, Missouri, City Council held a special open meeting in the MCCA Building at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Attending: Mayor Barry Moore, Clerk Monte Railey, and Council members Sydney Stewart, Rockne Gross, Joe Selle and Micah Schake. The only business on the agenda was to discuss Alternates (Addendums) A & B to the water project contract with Orr-Wyatt Streetscapes.
Mayor Moore called the meeting to order. He then provided feedback to the Council from his November 11th meeting City Waterworks COO Rex Brinker regarding alternates A (replacing seven fill hydrants) and B (which would increase pipe size from four to six inch from the vault to the standpipe). Either alternate would be at City expense. Mr. Brinker advised the Mayor that he believes the four inch pipe will more than adequately handle water demand but recommended the City adopt Alternate A and fund fill hydrants. That $18,900.00 additional expense will raise the estimated cost of the project to $1,151,567.50.
Councilman Gross made a motion to approve adding Alternate A to the contract for the project. The motion was seconded by Councilwoman Stewart and carried by a vote of 4-0. Mayor Moore advised the Council that he will forward the information for contract finalization by AGC Engineering, Jana Brandt with the USDA and City Attorney Steve Wolcott.
The next open monthly Council meeting is scheduled for 7:00 pm on Tuesday, December 15th, 2020,
in the MCCA Building.
Councilwoman Stewart made a motion to adjourn that was seconded by Councilman Gross. Meeting adjourned.
